The trial of Pierre Ménès has been postponed to 2023

“Pierre Ménès is seriously ill, he will not be present at the hearing”, This Wednesday morning, Me Wassermann warns against entering the courtroom of the Paris Judicial Court, where his client has been summoned to stand trial on “sexual assault” charges. Three cases were due to be tried in the morning. The first concerns a hostess at the Parc des Princes. The other two two saleswomen in a Nike store. President Eric Vivian has decided to postpone the hearing until March 8, 2023 next year.

The judge, who arrived 50 minutes late due to difficulties in assembling his court, explained that the expected time for hearing these cases in the morning had been underestimated. “This is a file that cannot be kept in 40 minutes. Let me be clear: it is not because the alleged victims are not present at the hearing and there is no complaint that we need to rush this file. You really have to take the time to anticipate everything. »

“Pierre Ménès will not be able to get better. Three weeks ago he was in a coma. He might even die. It’s only getting worse. This shift is bad for his health. »

The court then ordered the dismissal. “As far as calibration goes, we’re going to set that audience at 4 hours. We will certainly do some sightseeing that day and watch the Parc des Princes videos. We will take our time to assess these cases. »

“Our client needed to have this case behind him. The facts are not that complex. We had no intention of dragging ourselves into pleas.” replied Me Wasserman. Me Arash Derambarsh, Pierre Ménès’ other lawyer, has also expressed concern about his client’s health. “Pierre Ménès will not be able to get better. Three weeks ago he was in a coma. He might even die. It’s only getting worse. This shift is bad for his health. »

“I find it unfortunate that the court cannot organize itself to study and analyze Mr Ménès’ file in a case in which, I remind you, there are neither victims nor plaintiffs, there is no material element , added Me Derambarsh and left the courtroom. There are no photos, no videos. Nothing assumes the criminal responsibility of Pierre Ménès. This case is pure scandal. »

The hostess of the Parc des Princes would have described Ménès’ gesture as “fine, quick and precise”.

Pierre Ménès was to be tried on three counts. On November 20, 2021, Christelle*, 33, described having hostess at Parc des Princes “felt a person walking between the wall and her”, pushed her a little on the way. At the same time she would have noticed a hand resting on her “right breast”, before descending to her stomach. “From top to bottom, a delicate, quick and precise gesture”, She would have even qualified in front of the police. She would have said so too “a person in front of her” at the time of the facts, before recording ” instantly “ Walk towards the corridor leading to the stands and see Pierre Ménès.

In addition to this Parc affair, Pierre Ménès, who is considered innocent, will also be accused this Wednesday of two facts from June 2018 in a Nike store in Paris. Two shop assistants had filed a complaint against him for “sexual assault”. The first had seen his case dismissed by the prosecution; secondly, in January 2019, Pierre Ménès was the subject of a warning from the law.
